Autofocus works well, video is sharp and detailed (just as you would expect from a camera that shoots in HD).Although I wish it had a remote with controls. Other than that, it's perfect. This is a great product. Currently I cannot put the camera far away and zoom in on myself, or adjust where the camera is pointing without getting up and moving the camera.
The Logitech Vid software is fantastic and we were set up in a matter of minutes. Fast, easy and works very well. Easy to unplug from the Mac and go use on the PC and vice versa.I tried a less expensive webcam, the Logitech C200, and the software was insufficient, could not even focus the camera and the resolution was miserable. People with PCs and Macs had no problem with the software or service even if they didnt have a Logitech webcam.
She is a convert. My fiance now cooks with her best friend who moved to Las Vegas from LA where we live whose boyfriend is a chef. People should understand when you get a webcam that it is basically a digital video camera that uses the computers hardware and software to control it and therefore the quality of the lens and controller chip makes all the difference in video and audio quality just like a digital video camera with a high quality lens and CCD chip will create better video. Although it is designed primarily for PC and has software to support alot of functions, it works well on the Mac despite the lack of software support. Setup is truly plug and play. Just have the people you want to webcam go to the Logitech website and download the Vid software and join the service for free.so much easy than any other service out there. This is great for households with both PCs and Macs.
Her first response was "Oh no not another piece of technology.". This is a great webcam for Mac and PC. You can use Logitech's video protocol instead of AOL, IChat and other services. Paid $100 for the Quickcam Vision Pro but it was worth it.
We are both very happy with it. I have one on my computer and bought one for my son who also has a Mac. I recommend it highly to every one who does not have a built in web cam on their Mac computer. This web cam is so easy to use, you plug it in the back of your Mac computer and you are ready to go. the image is great and very clear. I have grandchildren out of town and in Europe and now I can see them and they can see us.It's wonderful.
This camera was the best priced and featured camera I could find that I felt might work with my machine though I was uncertain about the USB port speed. I priced new and used Apple ISight webcams, very expensive, and looked for Mac compatible cams. The connection had to be reestablished twice for unknown reasons, but the picture was worth a 1000 words. Unfortunately my PowerBook G4, OS 10.4.11, was the last made before the built-in cameras. When my child was deployed I wanted a camera to Skype with him. I was pleased with the one Skype session I have been able to have with my child.
I was skeptical about purchasing a webcam without knowing for sure if it was going to produce a clear visual and my friend in England said the picture he was receiving was excellent clear as though I were there as the speakers I have on my computer along with the visual created an image and sound that was like me being there and allowed him to take excellent photos as well. I would recommend this for anyone who has an apple computer and I am sure they willnot be disappointed.
